Sustainable raw materials are a great way to protect the environment and natural resources. Over 33% of our in-house manufactured products in 2020 were made from renewable or recycled materials. Our product-development team of experts are increasingly using suitable eco-friendly and sustainable materials for our products. Therefore, our goal for 2025 is to source at least 50% of our raw materials from recycled or renewable resources.
When it comes to using materials as efficiently and sustainably as possible recycling is an ongoing process. At Storopack we already use recycled materials in a wide variety of packaging solutions and are continuously increasing the share of these materials in our products.

TheFOAMplus® 5504R packaging foam is made partly from polyol, obtained from recycled polyurethane. The waste and leftover polyurethane from manufacturing or consumers is processed at recycling facilities in order to produce polyol. It has similar properties to the base material and can be used to produce high-quality protective packaging.

AIRplus® BIO from Storopack is suitable for light to medium weight products. The air cushion film fulfills the definitions of bioplastics: it is partly bio-based, using the natural and renewable resource starch, and home compostable.
The film is certified by TÜV Austria for home composting and can be disposed of alongside organic waste on home compost heaps.
In accordance with the DIN EN 13432 certification standard at least 90 percent of the film degrades into natural resources within 365 days, leaving no plastics or toxic material behind. Users can simply dispose of the air cushions alongside organic waste on the home compost heap.
